LUCEY HEADS TO BIG APPLE

Al Thomas pitcher/firstbaseman Tim Lucey will not be with the team for the 2003 season. Lucey has been traded to the Yokamuri Goats of the Desert Tundra League for a barrel of seeds, a huge tin of Cope, a butler, 50 White Russians and a tuna fish sandwich with potato chips. After struggling early in the 2002 season, Lucey hit .351 over the last month of the summer to lead the team down the stretch. Tabbed "Mouse" by his peers around the league, his game is personified by his quiet, shy demeanor on the field. The A's will also have to throw in a player (OR COACH) to be named later in the deal....
